How Do You Glue....

While I admit my gluing experience is limited, I am really getting inspired to try some more.  I really enjoy my sparkly running shoes, and I'm thinking now about trying some of the techniques for gluing on paper.  Thanks for sharing this info and these inspiring designs with us!

Sparkles and smiles,

Diane

Glue on shoes?

Diane,

I find so much talk about glueing on shoes and have seen the photos, but what brand do you use?  I tried one and allowed them to cure over 24 hours, but when I started walking the rhinestones started falling off.

GLUING

I have found a wonderful glue for flat backs.  Smile  I am in the middle of a big project at the present time and I am using a well known USA "domestic goddess" gel-glue and it is working wonders.  It has a pointed tip andI am not using a massive lot as I have done in the past.  I purchased three small bottles to do the job and I have only used about 2cms out of one bottle and I have completed about a third of the project.  It spreads easily and holds fast at least on hard objects.  If anyone wants some more information send me a personal message and I will help if I can.  Noel

Domestic Goddess gel glue?

Hi Edith,

I'm a beginner and I'm trying to find some glue that I can use to glue flat backs onto boots, like around the rubber part of motorcycle boots so I guess glue onto rubber where they won't come off when I take a step and also onto the leather gloves.  I've had terrible luck with both.  I tried using hot fix crystals on my leather motorcycle gloves, but they came off.  My luck hasn't been so great so I haven't tried to glue flat backs on them, but I did try to glue them onto my boots using GS-Hypo Cement and although it was easy to use, it wasn't flexible enough so they came off when I stepped.

Oh I did a search for "Domestic Goddess" gel glue, but nothing came up.  Is that the name of what you are currently using?

Will you please help me out?  I'm just trying to stand out from the guys when I'm on my bike!

Thanks, Carrie

Gluing..

I too use the gluing technique for my art pieces, although time consuming they are as its just myself doing the handsetting of the stones the end result is magnificient and im porud of my work,  I use a hypo-cement which I find works excellent and you literally need to chisel the crystals off the ceramic (material Im using atm) If you place a crystal in the wrong area and the glue has hardnened before you have realised you need to remove the crystal etc lol the needle tip is precision, very fine and excellent for getting into tiny areas where needed. Hope to see everyones gluing designs soon! keep sparkling..Paul Smyth.
