I believe that Swarovski stone settings are soldiered using a soldring iron vs. silversmith method. I watched a demo about soldiering the compenents a few years ago in Tucson. I will do my best to get that information confirmed for you.

I am interested in soldering too .... It would be a great help for me, if someone could write me an info source, about the needed equipment, the soldering tools, what model could I need for soldering casings etc....
I know there are a few steps that must be followed...
In our community are many experts, I hope that someone can share with us this informations.
In Romania, are a few companies who are selling this tools, but I don't trust them...because the price that they ask seems very high: 8.000 EU for solderin machine, biax, schleif, cleaning with ultrasound, stream Jet and alvanisation.
I am not sure that I need all this tools, so I study this problem, and wait for help from our Community.

I work in silver as well as swarovskis, and i am rather confused as to wether the swarovski stone setting findings are soldered using a silversmith method of silver solder strip and blow torch or if soldering is done using a soldering iron and wire! can anyone enlighten me?
