I haven't had much difficulty with thread being cut in the past, but I have always worried about it because so many other people have told me about it. I've avoided using seed beads as "buffers" in my work....I love the "pave" look of using 3mm bicones in Right Angle Weave. But now the Xillion bead is even easier to use, and I don't even think about thread breaking anymore. I also like that it is a very easy way of distinguishing any copycat beads from the real Swarovski elements...because the cut is patented, no one else has permission to create beads with this cut, and it is almost impossible to copy because of the precision needed.

In my work I often combine seedbeads with Swarovski Elements. The choice of the right thread was a big problem, because it had to be thin but stabile enough to stand sharp edges at the crystals. So one "must have" was always a seedbead in front and after a bicone bead.
Now with the new Xilion cut, which not only gives the bead a brighter sparkle, but also smoother edges at the bead hole, my formerly regular thread-"accidents" nearly no more appear!
And if I find a guilty bead, it is rather a bad seedbead, than a crystal! This gives you lot more opportunities for the design.... !!!!
