While I was making plans for my next workshop projects, I had the idea to make a special workshop how to do bead Embroidery with Swarovski Elements. How to attach them, also if they are no flatbacks. It is really fun and a challenge how many variations and possibilities you have with this. No matter if you use fancy stones, xilion beads or crystal pearls... even the crystal mesh you can use! Some days ago I read in another beading community the following thing: A beader complained about "Swaro's" (she meant bicone beads) that are always cutting her thread. A completely beaded piece, she already had sold to a customer was broken several times.  She asked others for help, what she should do, which thread she should use etc. Of course she got a lot of advice (do you use fireline?, take a double thread, do not use nylon threads...) Then I asked her.... "You said "Swaro's"... did you really use xilion beads? Or something else?"

At the end of a year one tends to look back on all the occasions of the past time. So many beautiful things happened in 2010 that I am thankful for. My Homepage "Trytobead.com" was started, I became an Ambassodor of "Create your style with Swarovski Elements", had my first time at Bead&Button show.  So many creative talented persons stepped into my life and  I still cannot believe that it all came true. Lynn Firth from Stitchncraft Beads (http://www.stitchncraft.co.uk/) invited me to teach two classes next year in October. Her beautiful shop is in Semley, Dorset, South England.I am very much honored, with her request, but now we have to decide which project would be the best.   It is not so easy but I guess Granada would be a good project. The pendant is easy to make, has a beautiful sparkling Rivoli in the middle and some additional Bling around it. Yes... I think Granada would be fine but what to take for the other class?!? ;-)   Happy Beading

Next year there will be the first Bead Art Fair in Hamburg-Germany and I am very proud to be one of the teachers there.  This meant to design two different projects for the classes and of course I wanted to include some brilliant sparkle. The first project is a bracelet made from 8 mm Xilion Chatons (1028 SS39), a bracelet with multipe possibilities of variations.  I really love this shape of the Chatons. No matter if you want to create a bracelet, a pendant, a sphere, the possibilities of variations, once they are bezelled, are endless!
