I have Beadstonefancies.com as an introduction to my wire and beaded work that I have been working on for a few years now. I am a retired social worker when I supervised juvenile delinquents for a long time...I teach wire wrapping and while I enjoy that- I think beading has been very rewarding and frees my creativity...I did woven decorative wall hangings for 25 years prior to getting started with jewelry making which I enjoyed immensely. I still have some of those hanging in my closet...
- Experience and Creativity
After taking classes in wire wrapping at my local Art Center, I took a few more workshops with my teacher and then continued on my own, leading to my teaching techniques in wire wrapping at bead shops...I have participated in a few art shows from time to time..After doing wire work for eight years I decided to try my hand at beading and often I feature a wire wrapped pendant on necklaces. I prefer to use heavy gauge half-round wire on these stones rather than the traditional wire wrap techniques as I think they look more streamlined and sophiscated over-all.
